Since 1959, the Fernando Awards have acknowledged outstanding civic contributions by San Fernando Valley residents through philanthropic and community service. The Fernando Award remains to this day the highest award for volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley, and has become recognized as one of the top awards for civic accomplishment in the United States.

 To be nominated, a San Fernando Valley resident will have exhibited leadership and exceptional effort in support of a variety of valley-wide civic, community and/or philanthropic programs and causes impacting the entire San Fernando Valley and it’s residents. Nominations should not be based in any way on an individual’s celebrity or professional accomplishments.

The Fernando Award is the highest award for volunteerism and philanthropy in the San Fernando Valley. It is supported by the Valley Chambers of Commerce, civic and philanthropic organizations, entrepreneurs and corporations located in the San Fernando Valley.
