Fernando Award Foundation Scholarships

The Fernando Award Foundation offers 11 unique scholarships to graduating seniors and community college students in the San Fernando Valley.  These scholarships are not based on GPA, but rather on the student’s involvement in community service and volunteerism performed outside of that required by the schools.

The scholarships include the following:

The Fernando Award Foundation, Inc awards one $2,000 scholarship and ten $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors and community college students which may be used for university, community college or trade schools.

Local high school principals, counselors, teachers, community college professors and community members are invited to identify and nominate students who they believe demonstrate the qualities defined by the above scholarship awards.

Applications for the 2014 scholarship are due by Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

  • All applications will be reviewed by the Fernando Awards Foundation Scholarship committee.
  • Recipients will be sent a letter of congratulations.
  • A Fernando Awards Foundation board member will present the scholarship to the student at their school’s award ceremony or at the end of the school year for community college student recipients.
  • Checks will be submitted upon student’s submission of proof of registration at their institute of higher education. Recipients must send in proof for registration to the address above.

The Fernando Award

The Fernando Award is the highest award for volunteerism in the San Fernando Valley and is supported by the Valley Chambers of Commerce, other civic and philanthropic organizations, along with private individuals and corporations located in the San Fernando Valley.
